About

I started out doodling in the margins of my notebooks, passing messages to friends with funny drawings. I idolized Stan Lee, Michelangelo, and Jim Henson. I loved collecting comics -- Conan the Barbarian, Garfield, Cathy, and Asterix & Obelix.

I grew up in Manila, Philippines, and went on to earn a B.A. in broadcast journalism at the University of Hawai`i at Manoa. While earning my degree, I worked at my college newspaper as a features and opinion writer, section editor, and...as artist of a daily comic strip named Tarabella, inspired by a feisty Pomeranian and island life. Since then, I've worked in radio, television, advertising and marketing on both sides of the Pacific Ocean. It's been an amazing career journey and I am grateful for every opportunity to work as a creative professional.

I live in Santa Barbara, California with my spouse, our son, and two extremely needy Maine Coon cats.
